The Tabernacle Rescue Squad has numerous membership types to fit your specific needs, skillsets and time commitment.  Our various membership types make it easy to give back to the community in a role that suits you and our organization.  Take a look below and see which role is right for you.

Active EMS

Active members are those who are currently EMTs or looking to become an EMT that will respond to emergency calls. These members go through training provided at no cost by the Squad to become active EMT’s. After becoming an EMT these members are required to serve a minimum of 48 hours of duty crew per month. Tabernacle Rescue Squad currently has over 40 active members and is always looking to add to our team.

Associate EMS

Associate members are those who are currently EMT’s that will respond to emergency calls. Associate members are typically those who can not fulfill the requirements of Active Membership but still wish to serve the community. These members are required to serve a minimum of 24 hours of duty crew per month. Associate members are not allowed to hold office and do not have any voting privileges within the squad.

Special Operations

Special Operations members are those who do not wish to become EMT’s and will respond to emergency calls such as Motor Vehicle Accidents, Large Animal Rescues, Emergency Services Rehab Assignments, Technical Rescues, and more. These members go through training provided at no cost by the Rescue Squad and provide the vital staffing for the Rescue, Rehab, and other special apparatus. These members are not required to serve on any hours on duty crew.

Cadet

Cadet members are those between the ages of 15 – 17 who are looking to become EMT’s or Special Operations Members that will respond to emergency calls. The primary responsibility of the cadet is to learn and understand the role of the 911 system, begin understanding the anatomy of a patient, communication ability and application of medical care with the use of basic equipment. Those Cadets who are interested in becoming an EMT will go through EMT training provided at no cost by the Squad. This EMT training is eligible for college credits upon successful completion of the course. Cadet members are allowed to respond to calls with parental permission. Being a Cadet member can help any students looking to fulfill the community service requirements for graduation from High School and can also help you stand out from the other applicants applying to that college of your dreams.
