Letter to Residents Regarding TRS Billing Practices
A Personal Message to the Great Members of Our Community

Dear Friends:
Thanks to your support, there are some exciting new changes happening to Tabernacle Rescue Squad. Best of all, while other towns have had to resort to paid emergency medical services, we continue to serve our community with a dedicated (and growing) corps of dedicated volunteers.
Again, thanks to your support, we have settled into our new home behind Nixon’s General Store on New Road. This has already proved to be a wonderful benefit for everyone. The central location ensures we are better able to respond to emergency calls throughout the township as quickly as possible.
This modern building is also the home of Tabernacle’s Emergency Management operation. We actually had a storm event that activated Emergency Management. Our citizen volunteers (CERT), Office of Emergency Management (OEM), your Tabernacle Rescue Squad, and the Department of Public Works were (fortunately) housed under one roof to ensure the safety of our residents. This coordination, over two days was, in the terms of experts, “seamless,” and ensured the safety of our community and residents.
Tabernacle Rescue Squad now has duty crew coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our dedicated volunteers have been ensuring Tabernacle Township will have 2 EMTs responding to your 911 calls 24 hours a day.
But you should also know that, like other communities that rely on volunteers, we have started billing for services as of February 1, 2013. Our annual fundraising efforts simply don’t cover costs.
While our dedicated EMTs are not getting paid for the countless hours they have been providing to the residents of Tabernacle, it does cost money to run the ambulance and have the proper supplies needed when we are called to help.
What does this mean for Tabernacle Residents? We will bill your insurance company but you will not be personally billed for our services.
There is a billing section on our website, under the billing tab, please feel free to view our policies currently listed. Look for new additions frequently added questions that will be added shortly. If you have any questions please email billing@tabernaclerescue.org, or feel free to call (609) 268-0671. Ask to speak to the President Cuyler Vena or the Chief George Jackson.
